Keep in mind that not all home urine pregnancy test are this accurate. You may want to consider taking a repeat urine pregnancy test and seeing whether you get a more definitive result. As soon as you become pregnant, your body begins producing hCG.
This means that an ovulation test likely won’t pick up a pregnancy as soon as a pregnancy test would. The earlier you take a home pregnancy test, the harder it is for the test to find HCG. Something definitely happened, so the tests results weren’t exactly negative. But “cheesy” or “milky” didn’t exactly describe the mixture either. Your Pregnancy Test Is Positive: What Next?
Finding out you’re pregnant, planned or not, is a life-changing event. It’s important to be gentle with yourself and recognize that it’s normal to experience a wide range of emotions. In general, many parents will go with an obstetrician-gynecologist (OB-GYN) as their primary care provider. That said, some parents may choose to stay with a family doctor, especially if they can provide the appropriate prenatal care. The LH will not show positive on a pregnancy test the way hCG will show on an ovulation test. For the most accurate results, take the test right after you get up in the morning.
This line may represent an early pregnancy, or it may be an evaporation line. Sometimes an evaporation line can be mistaken for a positive pregnancy test. Some at-home tests show two lines when hCG is detected and one line when hCG isn’t detected. For that reason, it’s recommended you wait until 1 week after you expected your period to start to use an at-home pregnancy test. A chemical pregnancy occurs if a fertilized egg, known as the embryo, is unable to implant, or grow, very early on. The truth is that women who have had a very early pregnancy loss don’t necessarily have problems conceiving at a later time.

The larger square window will have a blue horizontal control line and, if the test is positive, there will be a vertical blue line creating a “plus” sign to indicate you’re pregnant. The blue lines can vary in thickness and shade, so don’t assume a faint line is a negative. Digital tests are by far the easiest to read, like this one just says “Pregnant” or “Not Pregnant” once it has finished processing the sample.
